YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS

The Process.

01. Booking

It’s super simple! To secure your date, I’ll email over a booking contract & details on how to pay your deposit. Once recieved you’re all locked in. The final balance is due a month prior, easy.

02. A few months out

I’ll also send a questionnaire to fill out. This will help me prepare based on how the day’s events, locations and details are set to unfold.

03. Week of

I’ll confirm the details from your questionnaire, making sure there have been no significant changes. I’ll also be able to answer any last questions you might have about logistics on the day.

04. Day of

Time to celebrate! The day of your wedding is here! I’ll follow your timeline as the day goes on, & document all the wonderful events that come to pass.

05. Image Delivery

After your wedding, the editing process begins. Your gallery will be ready within 6 weeks. You’ll be able to view your images online & download high-resolution photographs immediately. I will also send you the collection on a USB drive for you safekeeping and backup purposes.

06. Albums & Prints

If you’ve arranged a custom fine art book through me, you’ll be able to select album choices from your online gallery. Once received, I’ll start on the album design and upload a draft for you to view online and request changes. After you’ve signed off on the final edit, I will place the order. Your album will arrive in approximately five weeks.

Building the timeline

I will help you create a timeline for your wedding day to help guide your planning and ensure a smooth flow of beautifully captured memories. Here are a few key “events” to consider, as well as a recommended time allotment for photographing each one.

BUILDING THE TIMELINE

PREPARATION PHOTOGRAPHS

If you are choosing to include coverage of your prep, I like to have a minimum of 60 minutes with the gals and 30 minutes with the guys.

For me getting ready coverage actually starts when everyone is actually ready to go. Schedule your timeline so that hair and makeup wrap up about 30 minutes before my photo coverage starts. Trust me, having an hour to chill with your girls, slip into your dress and pop some bubbly is way more fun than the chaos of get everyone dressed and out the door on time. An hour may sound like a lot, but on a wedding day, time operates differently.

THE CEREMONY + LOVE AND HUGS

The length of the ceremony can vary depending on what you have planned. A short and sweet ceremony takes around 20 minutes, while a traditional church service could be closer to 45 minutes. Make sure you allow some extra time for the post-ceremony love, hugs and congratulations. Depending on the amount of guests I usually allow around 15 minutes.

FAMILY PORTRAITS

The time can vary depending on the amount of people and the number of shots you’re after. To ensure a smooth and stress-free family portrait session, let’s plan ahead and discuss which combinations of family members are most important to you. Ideally if you want to keep this session to around 20 minutes I suggest no more than 10 combinations.

COUPLE PORTRAITS

I make the portrait session as fun and relaxed as possible, so keeping things simple is often best. If we can take the photos close to where the ceremony or reception location venues, then we can maximise our session and reduce time travelling.

THE RECEPTION

No two wedding receptions are the same, and it all comes down to what’s important to you. Whether it’s capturing the magic of your first dance, the sweet moments of cake cutting, or the lively atmosphere of friends and family sharing your joy, I’ll be there to capture it all. With my full day package, you can dance the night away knowing that I’ll be there until the party gets started on the dance floor.

CHOOSING LOCATIONS

First off, let’s determine what your drawn too is it natural beauty or urban locations? Or maybe it’s a combination of both? Then, let’s take practicality into account. If theres travel time between your ceremony and reception, let’s find locations that are nearby so we lose as little time as possible traveling.

If your ceremony and reception are in the same spot, we’ll maximize what’s available to us. Tell me what you love about the location, whether it’s the natural surroundings or the amazing architecture, and we’ll go from there.

If we’re shooting at multiple locations, we’ll need to factor in extra travel and parking time. My advice? Keep everything as close together as possible, so we can make the most of our time capturing your wedding day. Let’s focus on creating beautiful memories, not sitting in traffic.

Preparation Location Tip!

For stunning getting ready photos, consider staying at an Airbnb or a boutique hotel close to your ceremony venue. One that has lots of natural light and large windows to help us capture beautiful shots. This way, you can relax in a beautiful setting while ensuring that we’re close to all the action on your big day.

GOLDEN HOUR

Amazing pictures are all about the light! The best time to capture your portraits is during the “golden hour”, which is the hour right before sunset. That’s when the light is soft and warm, making everything look magical. I’d take 15 minutes of golden hour over an hour of harsh afternoon glare any day!

When it comes to your wedding day, check out the exact sunset time and we’ll plan our timeline back from there. In the summertime, we’ll have until around 7:30pm to capture those dreamy shots, but in the winter, it’ll be closer to 5:30pm. Google “sunset time + your wedding date + perth”.

Travel Fee

If heading outside the Perth Metro Area and an overnight stay is needed, a $500 Travel Fee will be added to the package selected.

If it rains

Bring umbrellas and weather appropriate shoes. Don’t worry we’ll still get great photos & often those rain shots end up being everyone’s favourites!

Camera Shy?

Most people are! The best advice I can give is — ignore me. There’ll be a lot of things to distract you, so focus on enjoying yourself and you will forget that I’m there. At the end of it all, it’s not about a photo-shoot, and it shouldn’t feel like one! The most important thing is to have the best time together.
