A Country Charm Wedding
Some weddings feel like a big show, but not a Country Charm Wedding in Baldivis.
And then there are weddings like Amy & Paul’s, which feel like taking a big deep breath and exhaling into joy. No pressure. No façade. Just two people who really love each other, surrounded by the people who make them feel the most at home.
From the start, these two have been a quiet sort of magic. They met online, had their first date at home, and now their happiest days look like mornings with coffee, pets underfoot, and doing life side-by-side. They both told me their favourite thing about the other was their eyes, and honestly, you can see it in every photo — they look at each other like they already know every good chapter still ahead.
It made perfect sense that their wedding wasn’t about putting on a performance. It was about keeping things simple, relaxed and happy — laughter, sunshine, pizza, family, and being fully themselves.

Country Charm Weddings at Baldivis Farm Stay just fit them.
If you’ve never been, Baldivis Farm Stay has this softness to it — open fields, gumtrees catching the light, and that sense that time slows down a little. It’s not rural in the outback sense. It’s just… peaceful. Close enough to Perth to be easy, but far enough to feel like its own quiet pocket of the world.
Other venues are designed for grand entrances and chandeliers.
This place invites you to kick off your shoes and just be present.
When you’re photographing a couple like Amy & Paul in a place like this, it’s less about posing and more about not interrupting the moment. Let them look at each other. Let them laugh. Let them tease. Let them melt into silence for a second. That’s where the good photos live.

The Ceremony
The original plan was an outdoor ceremony under the trees — that soft, open, country-air kind of setting. But just as things were about to kick off, the rain rolled in. Not a light sprinkle. The proper “okay, we’re doing this differently now” kind of rain.
So the ceremony moved into the barn — and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
There’s something about everyone gathering close together under a roof while rain hits the tin above. It feels intimate. Cosy. Like the world outside pauses and the only thing that matters is what’s happening in this one room.
The barn at Baldivis Farm Stay has that warm rustic charm — timber, soft light, a little bit of countryside soul — and it held their ceremony beautifully. Amy & Paul didn’t miss a beat. They just leaned into it, laughed, breathed, and got married surrounded by the closest circle of people who already know and adore them.
It wasn’t the original plan — it was better.
It was real.
It was them.

Portraits in the Field
They mentioned they were nervous about having photos taken — which is honestly the most common thing anyone ever says to me. But as soon as they were together, holding onto each other the way they always do, the nerves didn’t stand a chance.
The laughter took over.
The teasing kicked in.
The love did the rest.
No posing needed. Just connection.

Pizza + Golden Hour = Happiness
Afterwards was woodfired pizza, music drifting into the air, kids running around the grass, drinks flowing, and the sun doing that slow-gold thing it does in the late afternoon.
Nothing rushed.
Nothing forced.
Just a wedding day unfolding in its own rhythm, exactly the way it should.

The Good Stuff
Weddings like this remind me why I photograph the way I do.
No stiffness. No staged perfection.
Just people being themselves — and celebrating the hell out of love.
If that’s the kind of day you want too — the relaxed, real, we just want to have a good time kind — then we’re already on the same page.
You bring the love.
I’ll bring the cameras.
We’ll make something honest and beautiful.
